ELYRIA, Ohio – An Ohio teenager who killed his mother and wounded his clergyman father after they took away his video game received a lengthy prison sentence on Tuesday morning, Fox 8′s Kevin Freeman reports.

..Defense attorneys argued that Petric’s youth and addiction to the game "Halo 3" made him less responsible for the October 2007 shooting. The judge addressed the video game issue during sentencing, and said that it was a factor in his final decision.

The judge had said that the defendant may have been so obsessed with "Halo 3" — a game where players shoot alien monsters that have taken over the Earth — that he didn’t think death was real..
